Manual QA Engineer

We’re hiring a Manual QA Engineer at Just Slots to help us deliver reliable, polished games and effective tools for game development.

This is a manual-first role with broad scope, covering web-based game clients, internal development tools, backend integrations, and production workflows. You will also use agentic and AI-assisted testing tools to improve test coverage, accelerate exploratory testing, and identify risks earlier.

You won’t just execute test cases—you’ll help shape how quality is built into our games, tools, and development processes.

What You’ll Do

• Perform manual testing across:

  • web-based slot games and interactive game clients

  • internal tools used to create, configure, and release games

  • backend and RGS integrations

  • APIs, WebSockets, and frontend/backend interactions

  • production and release workflows

• Plan and perform functional, exploratory, regression, integration, usability, and compatibility testing.

• Test game mechanics, user journeys, animations, audio, paytables, bonus features, error handling, and game configurations.

• Verify that development tools are intuitive, reliable, and behave correctly across realistic workflows.

• Create clear test plans, test cases, checklists, and exploratory testing charters.

• Report defects with concise reproduction steps, supporting evidence, expected behaviour, and an assessment of severity and player impact.

• Investigate issues using browser developer tools, logs, network traffic, and API-testing tools.

• Use agentic and AI-assisted testing tools to:

  • generate and expand test scenarios

  • discover edge cases

  • support exploratory and regression testing

  • create test data

  • analyse failures and testing results

• Critically review AI-generated test cases and findings rather than relying on them without validation.

• Work closely with developers, product, automation QA, game teams, artists, and other stakeholders.

• Retest fixes and support release verification.

• Help identify quality risks and unclear requirements early in development.

• Improve test coverage, documentation, and the overall QA process.

• Highlight suitable scenarios for future test automation.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience manually testing web applications, games, or other interactive products.

• Strong knowledge of manual testing techniques, including exploratory, functional, regression, integration, and usability testing.

• Ability to turn requirements, designs, and user stories into effective test scenarios.

• Excellent attention to detail and a strong instinct for unusual behaviours and edge cases.

• Experience writing useful, reproducible defect reports.

• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Confidence working across several products, tools, and technical domains.

• An understanding of browser developer tools and client-server applications.

• Interest in—or experience with—agentic and AI-assisted approaches to software testing.

• Ability to assess AI-generated testing output critically and verify results manually.

• A proactive, hard-working, and delivery-focused mindset.

• Clear communication in English.

Bonus Points

• Experience testing games or interactive web applications.

• Understanding of slot mechanics, game states, paylines or ways, RTP, volatility, bonus features, and game configuration.

• Experience testing tools used by game designers, developers, artists, or producers.

• Familiarity with regulatory, compliance, or responsible-gaming requirements.

• Experience in real-money gaming.

• Experience testing REST APIs with tools such as Postman.

• Familiarity with WebSockets, browser network inspection, and application logs.

• Experience testing across browsers, operating systems, devices, and screen sizes.

• Experience using AI testing agents, generative AI, or other AI-assisted QA tools.

• Basic understanding of automated testing and the ability to collaborate with automation engineers.

• Experience working in a greenfield or fast-growing environment.
